"Delphi is proud to continue its associate sponsorship of the No. 5 Chevy with Kellogg's and Hendrick Motorsports for the 2005 NASCAR season," says Francisco A. (Frank) Ordonez, president, Delphi Product & Service Solutions and vice-president, Delphi Corporation.
Delphi will be prominently featured on the No. 5 Chevy in all Nextel races in 2005. In addition, Delphi will be the primary sponsor of the car at four races of the 2005 season, including Texas Motor Speedway (April 17), Indianapolis Motor Speedway (Aug. 7), Richmond International Raceway (Sept. 10) and Lowe's Motor Speedway (Oct. 15).
Hendrick Motorsports' newest Nextel Cup Series driver, Busch, is teamed with Terry Labonte, last year's driver in the Delphi-sponsored Car 5, Jeff Gordon, Brian Vickers and Jimmy Johnson.
"We have had a great relationship with Delphi for the past four years and are excited to have them continue as a sponsor for the 2005 season," says Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports.
Primary Indy League sponsor
Delphi is also continuing its long-running involvement in the Indy Racing League's (IRL) IndyCar Series with a new primary sponsorship agreement with Fernandez Racing that begins with the 2005 IRL campaign. This marks Delphi's eighth straight year of primary team sponsorship. Delphi carries dual designation as the Official Electronics Provider and Official Safety Supplier to the IRL. Visit .com.
